The book was conceived by the desire to compile and put together into one book the central identification keys for mosquitoes used for the past 50 years. This compilation of keys which have been meticulously illustrated is designed to provide comprehensive identification keys for medically important mosquitoes commonly found in peninsular Malaysia. Given that peninsular Malaysia is endemic for many tropical disease and that vectors of these disease are found in abundance in this country, an illustrated book which provides a roadmap for identification of these vectors especially mosquitoes is indeed fundamental and crucial in the efforts to effectively control vector-borne disease.
